DMcquinn--Try this it can't hurt. Set the low so that it will transition fine with out any hesitation when you stab it, (not super lean, but tad rich) then start leaning the high a little at a time....

DM- I "believe" that is a rev limiter so to speak. When the vibration level becomes extreme it dumps extra fuel to slow the engine. Maybe that is it????????
Last resort I would take the phenolic...

DM- If fuel is dripping from your carb as you have explained, then the metering needle must not be seating properly. That can cause a rich condition. Some carbs have a fork that the diaphragm...

DM--fuel can pool/puddle in the reed block area. One manufacturer moved the pulse line to the area of puddling and it seemed to help.
If you are to rich on the low end that will cause puddling...

That test should work for eliminating the carb pump. I would also try that ground test again with the cowl off of the plane and see if it will stumble when put on its side.

If your fuel system is spot on perfect and you are sure your clunk is not causing a pinching when it moves, and you also have tried the atmospheric vent to the fuse plus a box. The only other two...
