So I followed Peter's advice and installed the new motor before flying (in order not to damage the ESC). Inow also have a better charger and additional lipos, which makes the whole experience a lot...

Igot a reply from rc711 today after harassing them for approx 2-3 weeks. They gave me a store credit, which pretty much covers the cost of the metal upgrade and a portion of the shipping cost.

Mike, you can also use the refill of a BIC pen, heat it up slightly if required and slip it over the rods, ala Spiros, my son converted to this months ago and it is still working 100%....
