Plain and simple too rich will also give you more heat. I been doing this a very long time and have seen it many times. You talk like this is a Ringed aircooled engine...IT ISNOT. Totally different...

On top of that the conrod doesnt want full rpm runs with a tight sleeve. People dont realize how hard breakin is on the rod. I replace mine after breakin on every engine. Full rpm passes will scar...

Patience is the name of the game!! 8-10 tanks is very little time and breakin is still alot of fun. Heat cycle is by far the best method to break in an ABC/ABN engine

Does it have the spin start also?

Heat cycle is the best method IMO. Run the engine up to 200-210. Shut her down and take the piston from TDC and let cool and do it again. Do this several times...

Just for refference the Carb is different on the LRP spec 3 and said to be better. That being siad the 454 is an awesome mill. Overdrive rc has them for 149.00 with the dual start setup. Best price i...
