Daign if you already have the radio gear you can do a NQD rebuild yourself for $300 max.

Daign, the easiest way unless you can find a cheap Kyosho - is to buy a cheap NQD throw all the electronics out, seal the hull and put your own running gear in. For a 3cell system look at around...

Looking at your thought on using skegs would another option be using twin rudders? Advantages may be that you would be able to use fins with a far less surface area and also have better...

Na I still have my kyoshos running from new like 2000-2001 I think. Upgraded the electrics etc but otherwise mostly stock.
