RE: New H9 P-47 Razorback

Man, they need to come up with a better tail wheel! This one is just as ugly as the ME109. Please Horizon, spend a little more time and money to do them better. I can live with them being fixed,...

RE: hanger 9 bf 109 build

I wasn't motivated enough to go with the retractable tail wheel. :D

I like the tulip. Where did you get the decal for the tail?

I did Graf's red tulip on a Sky Shark kit I built. It came...

RE: hanger 9 bf 109 build

I couldn't stand the look of the tail wheel that was provided [:'(], so I decided to do something a little different. It isn't scale, but I think it looks better than what came with the plane. ...

RE: Albatros Dva

A Hitec HS-7955TG would solve your problem. It ain't cheap at $115, but it's got 250 oz in at 4.8V! And it's much less expensive than replacing the airplane.

Just my 2 cents

RE: Albatros Dva

I have always liked the Albatros, but 1/3 is WAY too big for me. I know there are 1/4 scale kits (Proctor & Arizona), but even these would be too big if the top wing is 1 piece. Idealy, I think a...

Thunder Power TP610 charger and NiMH batteries

I purchased a Thunder Power TP610 last fall primarily to charge LiPo's for indoor flying. Now that spring has rolled around, I use it on NiHM batteries in my outdoor planes. But something seeems...

RE: hanger 9 bf 109 build

Does anyone have any info on where the color scheme comes from? I'm having a hard time finding anything that looks like this.

Thanks

S3171 servo

Can the S3171 servo be used at voltages higher than 4.8V?

The Futaba web site doesn't list any torque for anything but 4.8V so it makes me suspicious that it can't be used above that.

RE: Why an instructor is so important

Unfortunately, spring winds just become summer winds, which become fall winds.........

If you can't fly in the wind, you won't get much flying in Illinois.

RE: Standing position for take off

My question is, what do you do if this brand new plane flames out shortly after take off? Run off the runway? Land it and hope you don't get hit? Just seems like a dumb idea to me.

Maybe I'm...

RE: I fear I may have purchased a fake spektrum system

$126.31 is NOT that low of a price. I recently paid $149 (plus tax yadda yadda) for a DX6i that came with a park flier receiver and 4 micro servos. This is was from a local hobby shop who is an...

RE: Hanger 9 60 size ME109F- FINALLY!!!

Not to hijack this even further, but Horizon needs to come out with a P38. This would be a GREAT use for the AS3X technology!

Just one guy's opinion.

RE: Noob to War Plane

If you can fly a helicopter, then I think you'll be bored silly after just a couple of flights with a high wing trainer. Iā€™d say go with the Goldberg Tiger 60, or with something like the Bruce...

RE: Christen eagle help

The recently reviewed Hangar 9 Christen Eagle (http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=1483) has a 54" wing span and appears to fly well with a 125 four stroke (20cc) glow...

DX8 vs DX7s - What do I get for my extra money?

I'm a Futaba user looking to get a Spektrum radio because of all the nice BnF planes that have come out.

I didn't see too many differences when looking at the feature list on the Horizon web...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

The former is completely solid. No holes above or below the hidden servo/receiver mounting tray. It would be difficult to put holes in there. Maybe I'll give it a try (I tend to be lazy though....

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

Well, I made it all the way to Step 8 in the assembly before I found a problem!

The wires for the elevator and rudder servos are supposed to get fed through a former up to beneath the seat hatch...

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE

I'm thinking of glow on this plane.

Give my opinions on either an OS 120 AX or the Saito FA-125. I'm NOT looking to 3D this plane.

Thanks

RE: 71

I haven't gotten to fly much, but I've got a few flights on the Yak with a Perry-pumped OS 160.  I'm no 3D'er, but it hovered at a little over half throttle with a Xoar 18x8 prop.  If you don't feel...
