RE: Backdraft 8E

if you are taking the steering apart then I highly recomend istalling bearings into the steering assembly. it removed all of my slop and makes it far better. IMHO.

RE: Thunder Tiger Electric offroad

Has anyone converted the hex for the wheels to 17mm on a Sparrowhawk XXT?

I run a 8th scale car as well and have a load of wheels with 17mm hex's and I may as well make use of them on my XT.

RE: how do i get the rust off?

I'd just pop into your local auto center and get some vehicle rust remover. The one i've used in the past is a green gell containing Phosphoric acid. You just put it onto the rusted area and it...

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)

When you replace the screws put some threadlock on them. I found they worked loose dur to vibration but the threadlock sorted it.

RE: Earthquake 8e Steering problem

While you are stripping and fixing the steering you may as well replace the brass bushes with bearings. it removed a lot of the steering slop and is always good practice.

RE: Vehicle Naming Contest (NEW) Posted May 5

The new chassis looks like loads of fun. I cannot wait to get my hands on a production model.

The pre-production models seem to have the upgraded servos and a higher power ESC. I also like the...

Don't forget Naked as an option. That way we can make them up to our own styles.

RE: Redcat-what's the deal?

I've owned a number of manufacturers cars over the years. I may be new to this site but I have about 5 years experience of 'proper' RC cars.

I've owned multiple cars from each of the following...

RE: metal Pinion & Spur for Backdraft 8E?

Metal Spur gear part number is MP0-016 but it's got fewer teath than the stock so you'd have to adjust the pinion to match.

RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)

If they have only been sitting a few months I'd just give them a single 1A discharge and charge as normal.

What was the charge like when you left them? I never used to leave mine fully charged.....

RE: metal Pinion & Spur for Backdraft 8E?

I'd be reluctant to use one.

Plastic gears are cheap enough to replace.

The plastic is hard enough as long as it's setup properly. Yes it will wear out if if the car is used a huge amount but...

RE: Impressive Must Watch Now!!!

It's also worth noting that you are assuming the speed gun is calibrated 100% correctly.

I've seen speed runs gone with ebay cheapos and they are quite often optimistic at best.

RE: Thunder Tiger Electric offroad

Get yourself a battery alarm. that way if a cell drops low it will alarm and tell you it's had enough.

I get about 20-30 mins from my 5000mAh 2S2P battery without the alarm sounding.
