Happy New Year, indeed! That connector was the problem. The male end has a splined spring-tension collar. I used a hobby knife to open them up, and the connection is better. Car runs fine again! ...

Went and had a look at the motor wires this morning. I used a hobby knife to "open up" the splines on the bullet connector to the motor that seemed not as tight as the other two. Turned on the car...

Right. Did all those things. I did notice one of the three motor wire connectors seemed a little less tight than the other two. That would do it, huh?
