Does your motor system have bullet connectors...

Does your motor system have bullet connectors between the ESC and the motor? Something like that happened to me on a different motor system. One of the connectors must've had a not-so-good solder...

The only way to know for sure, is to measure it. ESC shouldn't get over 135F or so. Motor shouldn't get hotter than 180F, usually should be around 140F, geared properly. An infra-red thermometer...
