Hi Guys

Crashed my Corsair this weekend! Hit a fence post and punched in the Lh wing.

Does anyone have...

I use Hitec 645 for the flaps, one per side, as per plans. I don't like to use digital servos for flaps incase there is a slight bind somewhere that will case the digitals to suck a lot of juice....

Good idea Duber3, I went the all out route because I wanted to try the balanced elevator trick, and the stock ones were very heavy, so had to go. I also never used the metal long push rods and went...

Early last Summer I did my TF GS Corsair maiden and had an elevator flutter at high speed. There was some discussion on it back then and I tried a few things like beefing up the torque wires in the...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

My elevator flutter came back, even with the Hitec 645 MG servos.I have my G62 rpm at 6500 with a Xoar PJT 22X10 prop, I leaned it out alittle to get this RPM and I realy like the speed and...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Got four flights in on my TF GS Corsair last weekend, and to my horror, my flutter problem came back.
I only get the flutter in a bit of a dive at full throttle. A sharp eyed member said he saw the...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Thanks for the info Bob.

I built the 60 size TF Corsair several years ago and just used some ply supporting the wire and never had a problem. So did the same with the big one.

I was thinking...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Hi all,

Other pilots watching saw...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Here's a couple of pics of the hub alignment. In the pics it does not look too bad, but it does bug me that after all this I screwed up a basic thing like getting the engine/cowl centered.

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Thanks Bob, I feel better about the 20 oz tank now.

Chad
I don't know anything about the Reeves drive unit , but if the aim is to run a near scale 3 blade prop, electric works great.
My next...

Quick question.

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

Aceisback,

I plan on using a large sub-c 5 cell Nicad in my TF GS Corsair. What type of servos did you use in your flaps, the ones that failed?
Also did you use the hidden control horn for the...

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair

I used 3/32 on my Fuse because I had a nice supply of good stuff and the supplied 1/8' was hard and heavy. This mod did not seem to affect any fit issues. But, I did run into a problem.
The kit has...
