RE: keeps wanting to turn

You may want to make sure your rudder servo is effective at speed. If your boat has decent speed, you'll probably need a 1/4 scale servo. Otherwise, a tendency to make a constant right turn is what...

RE: Atlantio 059 Conversion

Thanks Jan.

I'll check out that motor. Is it a direct swap as far as motor mounting and shaft diameter? How about a regular Speed 600 (8.4V)?

Here's some pics of the conversion on the...

Atlantio 059 Conversion

A couple of years ago, I picked up an "Atlantio 059" on Ebay (my first RC boat). It was obviously a cheap Chinese made copy of the discontinued Kyosho Atlantio but the price was definitely right at...

RE: Stock 120 motor smoked

Ditto on the Endoplasma or Krypton Krystal.. My Corona was a slug with the AF and 7 cells. Not too surprising considering I was trying to replace a 13 turn motor with a 17 turn motor. BTW: My...

RE: Bucking Voyager E

Ralph is right about the wobbles being headspeed induced. You'll find a wealth of info regarding this on the Yahoo Voyager group. There are some mods you can do to reduce or eliminate the low...

RE: Voyager E upgrade motor...any ideas?

I usually order my VE replacement parts from HeliHobby too. They're not the fastest or even the easiest outfit to deal with but I always get my parts. When they ship, they will send you an email...

RE: Voyager E question

The receiver wont have any port for battery charging because the battery will be an external pack. Typically, the RX battery pack will be unplugged from the receiver and plugged into the charger.

RE: Raptor 30 v2

What about crash replacement parts? Who has the most affordable replacement parts? I'm also in the market for a nitro heli in the 30-50 size but I don't want to invest in something I can't afford...

RE: Corona Motor

The forward biased diode would appear as a dead short to the ESC. Something would have to give and hopefully, it would be the diode. But it wouldn't be out of the question for the ESC to belly up...

RE: Corona Motor

Doh! Of course your right. Sorry for my brain fart. The diode should be reverse biased and the cathode would go on the positive terminal in this case. If the diode is on wrong it would result in...

RE: Corona Motor

The motor probably came with 3 capacitors, not diodes. There is probably a rather large diode with the ESC. The easiest thing to do is install the diode and one capacitor across the motor leads. ...

RE: JR G550T GYRO DRIFT

I suppose it would depend on how much you actually have to add but subtrim in rate mode is only a small fixed amount of servo angle, not a continuos heading change command. You should be able to...

RE: JR G550T GYRO DRIFT

Both JR gyros I've owned required some subtrim to minimize the drift in HH mode. I had to neutralize the drift in HH mode with subtrim and then trim the linkage in rate mode.

RE: gyro setup help needed

With any heading hold gyro, the rudder ATV (Adjustable Travel Volume) in the transmitter only serves to define the yaw rate and not the servo travel. The servo travel is defined by the gyro's own...

RE: Getting ready to buy a Corona

You may have your motors confused... The Atomic Force is a brushed motor and the Pegasus is a brushed motor ESC. The Astro and Hacker are brushless motors as the Phoenix is a brushless ESC.

RE: help - lite machines corona

Sounds like glitching. This is sort of common with brushed motors because the brushes arc on the commutator. A brushed motor can be a major source of radiated noise. Clean the com per LMH...

RE: HELP - Bizarre Problem

Assuming you have a fixed pitch Piccolo, you probably have the swash type set to CCPM. I'm not that familiar with the 9Z or the Piccolo but you should be able to change the swash type in the TX for...

RE: Corona and hacker motor

Make sure your in normal or throttle mode. If your somehow in governor mode, you will have limited control of rpm. Your Corona won't be too happy with that.

RE: Sluggish Rudder Response

If your using a heading hold gyro, don't use revo mix. A HH gyro will interpret the mix as a command to change the heading and the result will be an excessive drift. The REVO mix would probably...

RE: Sluggish Rudder Response

A lot of the poor TR response stems from the 2:1 drive ratio. Most helis use a 5:1 TR drive ratio. The LMH design tries to make up for it with a bigger TR but it's still lacking IMHO.

There...

RE: Voyager E batteries

I usually charge the GP3300 packs at 3.3 amps (1C) and have on occasion, charged at 5 amps. Depending on where you got the packs, I would make the first charge long and slow (overnight at ~300mA) to...
