The original full scale SMP had zero degree just like the kit plane. Many people have built the SMP exactly as the plans state and have had no problems whatsoever. However, others, myself included,...

I believe you can get that tank up a little higher by removing some of the former above it. I would try to raise it as high I could reasonably get it.

If I were to build another one I would put in 2 degrees positive on the horizontal stabilizer. I've been working on a Liberty Sport and it's the same so I've built in 2 degrees positive on it as well.

I think I figured out that the SIG SMP is 1/4.5 scale, so as taildragger1598 has pointed out, it is nearly 1/4 scale already. I too would like to have a 1/3 scale SMP since even at 1/4.5 it's still...

I agree, that's why I stopped flying the Smith, too small to see at a comfortable distance. I've got my Skybolt that I fly quite often and a 1/5 Albatross D.Va w/ 70" wingspan in the works.

I agree with 2.4ghs, you will love this plane. I think SIG calls this kit a "craftsman kit" or what the older builders call a "builders kit" meaning it's not a laser cut kit that just falls together,...
