RE: Engine for GP 1/3 Pitts Special

I used an FPE 3.2 ci motor and it was wonderful. Tons of power, great power to weight and balancing it posed no significant challenges. I would definitely use a 3.2 ci motor again - FPE, DA, etc.

RE: Large Throws

Using larger servo arms and moving further out on the control horns minimizes the impact of play in the servo linkages. Longer servo arms are the way to go - stay away from inner holes on the...

RE: jr 8611 and carden question?????

The concern is not so much the power, but flutter. The word is that the extra servos on the elevator and ailerons prevents flutter. I have a 40% composite arf 330L with 3 8611's per aileron and two...

RE: 40% Composite ARF 330S Maiden Video

No need to fuel the fire on this one. It was CLEARLY operator error. I'm using a DA 150 and getting outstanding support from Brian. I have no complaints. Since that first brain fart, the motor...

RE: Throttle servo (glitching) Near or far

In my gas planes I mount the throttle servo as far away from the motor as I can and I use a plastic or carbon fiber pushrod. Given the results of your range check, you should be able to make a...

RE: 40% Composite ARF 330S Maiden Video

Yes, I saved it. Not for the weak of heart, that is for sure. Motor didn't have any time on it yet and I had no business jerking around with torque rolls so early in the game.

RE: Composite ARF 40% Need Control Horn Measurement

Excellent - thank you! 2 & 5/8" was exactly the measurement I was looking for. I've used the SWB 1.5" servo arms, btw. I can get big throws, but not quite what is advertised.

RE: Help Adding Servos to 40% Composite Arf

This plane will be used for extensive 3D. Raw power is not an issue particularly with 8611's on 6 volts, rather multiple servos also reduce flutter when using extreme throws. One of those...
