I have it set up this way: there is one airleron on each wing, each aileron has its own servo. each servo is plugged into the two aileron channels on the rx, so no, they are not on a y harness

Your right. Now that I think about it, weight isn't a big issue, only water. Now my only reason to hollow them out is water. If some water where to sneak into the front somehow, like a leaky glue...
