RE: Rigid head on rudd/elev only?

Do not increase stifness of the blade holder disc. Ideally, it should not have any stiffness (i.e. no transmission of blade bending moment to the head through a hinge) to avoid dissymetry of lift....

RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed

I do not plan to make any buisness by making blades or autogiro parts. If you prefer to buy blades, go to Aerobalsa and then you just need to balance and finish them. The quality of these blade is...

RE: Rotor Speed

900 rpm on the sparky (650g, SG6062, 1deg incidence), pretty stable. approx 600-700 rpm on the Pitcairn PA22 from A Co Az (1750g, clark Y, 1.5 deg incidence). And around 500 RPM on the Kirara (1850g,...

RE: Autogiro Videos

I have already tested this system (it is exactly the one used on the PA22 video). The problem is if the drive axis is not exactly in line with the rotor axis, it is not so easy to declutch. The...

RE: Autogiro Videos

On the video, the prerotator with wireless drill was not incorporated any free wheel, so it was a little bit difficult to unclutch it. Now, I have installed a one way bearing and it is much better...

RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed

Ron,

the easiest (and of course the most expensive) way is to order blades from Aerobalsa. But you can do them easily by yourself, in plain balsa if you use a clark Y airfoil. The method I use...

RE: "Dihedral" or preset coning effects on rotor

Hi Mickey.

Conical angle is critical on full size gyro for two reasons: (single rotor).

To avoid rolling to the side, the lift developped by each blade shall not apply any torque on the...

RE: European BEGI.

Both have a very good pitch stability. For both gyro, the use of rudder is not necessary (the C30 has no rudder). The main difference is the roll stability. The C30 is not as stable as the BEGI is,...
