RE: Carbon-Z Yak batteries

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking to charge at the absolute max rate, I'd be more than happy to just charge at 2C as of right now. Can I do a regular LiPo charge at 2C or should it be a balance...

Carbon-Z Yak batteries

Hey there,
I have the Carbon-Z Yak and I love it however I have two of the eFlite 2800mah 14.8v LiPo's which strictly state on the back that charging shouldn't exceed 1C. My question is, should this...

RE: Gas Can set up.

Actually, I guess it's this one that I want:

Will this work with 1/8" tygon tubing?

RE: Hobbico LiFe batteries

Can you personally recommend the Turnigy's? I get afraid when things are cheap aha. <div>Also, I see that they have one JR plug and one Futaba plug.. It's just a case of filing down the step to use...

Hobbico LiFe batteries

Hey there,
I want to purchase a Hobbico LiFe battery and a suitable charger. I was recommended the CellPro charger but my LHS has a Hitec X1 available in stock. My question is, what type of balance...

DLE35RA Break in

Hey there,
I have a DLE35RA on the way and I need to order some props. What size do I need for break-in? Is there a crucial size for this? It's just that I noticed on Aeroworks website that they say...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Thanks for clarifying Ace, that'll make things easier for sure.
And thanks Chymas, I'll check them out and the miracle switches.

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Ok thanks Ace, I'll definitely do that. I'm going to invest in a good charger because right now I just have a basic duratrax one that doesn't support LiFe and doesn't have an LCD. <div>What do you...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Awesome, that's what I was thinking too. So I no longer need a BEC in my proposed setup. I figure it like this..<div>Battery out put 1 - switch - RX</div><div>Battery out put 2 - switch - opto kill -...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Yeah that would be awesome Ace. I'd probably get my head around this easier with a picture.

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

I've found this example but seeing as how we've established that the Spektrum RX and the DLE35 ignition will accept 6.6v with no issues, do I still need the BEC or can I delete it? <div>...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Hey Ace, if I use the rcexl opto kill, I won't need to take the black and red right? It looks like it has an input for a battery and a separate input for the receiver and then an output for the...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Thanks for the input Mark. Do you use any regulators in your system or is it perfectly fine to run one battery through two switches to the same RX without regulators? Also, with your system, your...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Thanks Ace. I think that's what I'll do then. So to clarify, it's perfectly acceptable to use both outputs of one LiFe battery then? Each to their own switch then one to RX, the other to an Opto Kill...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I might just go the two separate batteries route for simplicity.
Alternatively, is it possible to use both universal outputs of a single LiFe Battery? Is this too much...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

So do you think I should just skip the BatShare and the IBEC altogether.
Should I just approach this with the tried and true method..
One 2100 LiFe Battery ~ Switch ~ RX
Then one 1800 LiFe Battery...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

That's what I've been reading too.. An IGN short is crazy rare and somewhat safe with an IBEC because of current limiting right? <div>Also, Barracuda, the Revo CellPro for a charger? I like the look...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

So to go with two switches or not is the question.. Maybe I'll install the two even with the IBEC, because why not really? <div>As for an ignition short and draining a battery, I had this concern too...

RE: Sites for gas setup advice.

That's a good point.. The gear switch on my TX will be the IGN switch. Thanks, saves a connection for sure. <div>As for the charger, I googled CellPro and just wanted to ask if it's the Revo Cell Pro...
