I have the 3200kv in my Slash. It is easily as powerful as the Velineon, but with a little more torque. I would recommend it to anyone.

How about the Losi TEN SCT-E? It comes as a roller, but from what I have seen, can handle very good on a track, and be durable at the same time.

The car is mainly for my dad, who isn't the best driver in the world. But the car can fly around a track wtih some authority, suprisingly.

Also, another thing you can do, if you're up to it, is the fuel line mod for the shocks, to lower your Rustler.

If you are going exclusively on road, get yourself some Jaco foam tires. They can come mounted up on some huge rims which also add to top speed.
Other things you can do is thicken up the shock oil...

Brushed motors aren't crap, they just require extra maintainence.

I would go for a motor like an S600 (http://www.electrifly.com/motors/speed600.html). It will allow you to use the stock gearing...

The Traxxas Rustler VXL driveshafts fit right on to the Ruckus, and if they do, so do the Slash 4x4 shafts. But I don't know if the 4x4's are...

The problem you're having is the fact that you haven't set the throttle points yet. I'll walk you through it:

First you hold the set button and turn on the esc. A red light should come on and...

You would be much better off with a 1410 3800kv. That motor makes torque! I have it in mine, since I have the Sidewinder SCT combo, and it rips the Velineon to shreds I tell you!!</p>
