My TM8 did not come with the failsafe actvaited maybe yours did, Also on mine you dont have to relink to change a failsafe setting I suppose if you have the
failsafe actvatied when you link it would...

I have a TM 8 and the failsafe does not set when you link, You have to first turn on the failsafe fuction and then set it this is all done after you first link the system.

With Airtronics and Futaba binding does not set the failsafe condition there is a separate procedure to set failsafe.

I dont know what system you are refering to but I do know with Airtronics and Futaba 2.4 systems once they are bound I have never had to rebind them and the
only time I had to change the failsafe...

Futaba had a problem with receivers shutting down because of high heat a couple of years ago but that issue has been corrected and no has complained
about heat related problems with receivers...
