I had read a lot of reviews saying the same thing you said there. We are going to get a RCEXL replacement when we can afford it as well. We picked this motor up new in the box for 110$ 3 months ago...

What we did was just use carrage bolts going through the bottom with large flat fender washers on the bottom as well, then filled the holes with Liquid Nails for Foam and Panel let it set and dry,...

I did, or I would not ask here...... There is NOinfo stating you can use it for custom setups that I read in 25+ sites about it. Everything fell back to the craft they had being a Walkera....
