For anyone who's interested, it was a short in the elevator rheostat. I picked up a Dx6i to replace it.

I did some more looking around and found that Tx's with these PIDs are affected

DX6i/DX5e/DX4e:
PID's beginning with the following prefixes: HS, HH, HT, HE, HA

Mine starts with HO, so...

I used the servo reversing switch on the Tx and the elevator went all the way up.

I also tried what Redhead suggested and that didn't work either.

Oh sorry.  It's a Spektrum DX4e. Until yesterday everything was just dandy, so I really have no idea what it could be.
