RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I don't prime the engine either when using the starter, no chance of hydro locking an inverted engine if there is no fuel in it.

I used the chicken stick for a long time to start my Saito, but...

RE: Metal working...tips

Be careful cutting with the tool rotation. If you have any play or lash in a machine it will suck the cutter in. Cutting with the rotation is usually reserved for cnc machines with ballscrews.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?

I've got a 42" slick and love it, but the edge has more 'character'. There is a thread somewhere on putting a Saito 82 on a 59" Slick, he boxed in the motor mount and a few other things. But says...

RE: AeroWorks Edge 540T 46-60?

How is the weight compared to the edge? Not gluing the wing together is almost worth $80. But then I'm close to the priced of a 59" 3dhs AJ slick

I gave $165 for it shipped. What do you guys think? Rebuild it, or dispute it.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I feel almost no play in the bearings, but I can see movement in the big end of the rod. To be safe I'd need to replace both. I'm going to try and return the motor first. If not I'll tear it all...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I pulled the rocker covers and found the exhaust pushrod had jumped out of its screw and was against the rocker arm. The intake had no detectable lash.

I then pulled the rear cover and found...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I just bought a used 100. It's got good compression and seems in good shape except for being a little dirty and having a lot of carbon on the exhaust valve stem when I look into the exhaust port. ...

I think I read the whole thread on the FG-20 here, and I don't recall anything either. I thought the hole was the same 1/4-28 as the glow version.

Not sure I want to loose the power either. ...
