RE: Sig Ryan STA

Nicely done! Not only are you an expert builder, but a film director to boot. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/thumbs_up.gif

RE: Sig Ryan STA

I think it's all been said, but what a ride it's been watching this build. Looking forward to seeing PR all ready to go.

Weather this Saturday and Sunday looks to be just about perfect for a...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Vin is being modest. His Ryan won Best Scale Model of the evening and it wasn't even a contest. I can tell you, the pictures don't do it justice. The cleanness of his build, the rivets and panel...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

I'm bringing a lawn chair to the show and tell meeting so I can just sit in front the Ryan and soak it in.

Great name, too! Perfect play on words and looks good to boot.

RE: Sig Ryan STA

It appears there are two Sig Ryan STA kits on eBay right now. They still have 3 days to go, but are both currently under $100.

First kit...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Oooh, I'm counting the days until I get to see this in person, wing painted or not. In fact, it will be great to get to see both the paint job on the fuselage and the wood work of the wing - best of...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

I've seen builds with and without the servo lead tubes. Do they serve any purpose other than making it easier to route the servo leads?

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Bah!I could have used that idea! I took a section of black heat shrink tubing to outline the dash on my Model 44, but it creases on the curve. This would have worked much better. Next time.

RE: Sig Ryan STA

1/16" pin striping tape, I can't imagine getting my fingers to work with something that thin. I used 1/4" for the gold pin stripe on my Model 44 and that was tricky to work with, not to mention it...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

I am obviously not deep enough into this hobby as I don't have any airplanes stored in the garage with my car outside in the snow yet. I need to work faster. :)

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Ok, good, laying the control surfaces flat and at the edge of the table was what I was envisioning. Thanks for the confirmation.

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Vinny,

Good to see you out at the field today.

Whilst the crowd awaits the arrival of your stitching, I thought I'd throw a quick question out there. When it comes to installing the Robart...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Ah, very clever. Do you have to do anything special to keep future coats of paint from obscuring the line or pooling up against it?

RE: Sig Ryan STA

You seem to be in the right profession for being an RC model builder. I don't think spray painting my plane in my cubicle would go over too well....

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Getting excited to see the paint go down. What kind of equipment do you use to spray? Looks like an automotive type spray gun you have there in the picture. As I've never sprayed paint, what kind of...

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Yes, I'm glad your getting all the kinks worked out of the process as my next build will have a glassed fuselage. Thanks for taking it for the team, Vin!

RE: Sig Ryan STA

Ah the dreaded landing approach from the south. Sorry Imissed it. As we pulled into the driveway about 3:45 I noticed things seemed pretty still and said to myself, "If I move quickly, I could get to...
