Whether you can run 2 jet units depends on the hull. it would need to be quite a bit bigger than the NQD Tear Into and have quite a shallow V, otherwise the jets will suck air as soon as you start to...

Ideally you'd use a lathe to drill the coupler out, but even then it may not run true, but you've got nothing to lose by trying.

That motor will be fine Brian, and no need to waterproof it, just...

No problem Brian,

Depends on what you mean by short bursts, and a lot of other factors like motor size and kv rating, and whether you're running 2S or 3S. Also whether you're running fast on open...

Below is a link to the motor I recommend. On 2S it's pretty quick and on 3S it's crazy :) Have a look around my eBay store for other stuff I do, the ESC I recommend for that motor is the 35amp one,...

Hi speed, a brushless setup makes a massive difference. They're total junk out of the box, a lot of them don't work at all, but they're fantastic fun after modding them. I make lots of parts for...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

25,000 would be good so build the fastest one you can. Keep the boat as light as possible as the Cox motor won't have much torque down low but once it hits it's power band it'll be fine.

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

Yep, she'd be a noisy little sucker alright! Not my idea of a relaxing crawl session, but hey, whatever floats his boat :)

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

Plenty of power there Mike, especially since the overall weight would be a lot less than electric, just a bit low on RPM for flat water work. I agree about the mess of fuel... and starting issues......

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

I've never seen one or heard of one that's been done, couldn't find anything on youtube either. It wouldn't be as fast on open water as a brushless electric setup but plenty fast enough for rapids...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

Nice one Brian. Just so you know, when the instructions say to use CA (Super Glue... Crazy Glue etc) to glue the stator into the stator housing, don't even think about using anything else. You...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

I like it :) No idea how well it'll work but I look forward to hearing the results. Just make sure you round the transition from hull bottom into the tunnel at the front especially. Sharp edges...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

Better safe than sorry... I'm sure the pilots whose planes you work on appreciate your having that ideal ;)Yes you can use NiMH and even NiCad batteries with that ESC. But you should turn the battery...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

There's no substitute to volume mike. A 28mm jet unit is pumping twice the amount of water that a 20mm unit is.

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

No worries Mike, whenever you're ready just email me. The ESC I do is heaps big enough, it's the same one I run in the 540mm boat I do which has a much bigger motor. I do have batteries but I can't...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

Hi Mike, it's Steve (SicRC... ondabeach)The main difference between the 2 reversing nozzles is that the Kamewa style is much shorter than the Riva-Calzoni. If you were going to be using the boat in...

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

No worries matey :)Trim tabs aren't needed on these boats, just move the battery around to balance it and you're away.

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

If it's for your boy then yeah, keep the speed down and the run time up. You can't go past hobbyking for value and once you've done the research and know what's good there the quality is good too, I...
