RE: Spektrum DX-7

If you are talking about the built in throttle cut, you have to turn it on in the System menu [I think]. Then set up your throttle so holding the throttle trim shuts off the engine, [you must hold it...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Straight to the point! I guess I'm a genius too, I've never had a problem in 3 years. (I'm in the process of changing to A123 rx batteries). I have been shot down on 72MHz. I'll never go back.

You can put your own on if you like or NoBS batteries has configurable leads. Stock A123 racing batteries come with Deans and a Hyperion balance tap.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

BaldEagel,

The Kodiak switch seems like overkill for what I'm doing. I fly 40 and 60 sized models, some with flaps, dual elevator/dual ailerons. Seems unlikely I'll have any really high current...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

King Arthur,

I've decided to go with the 2300 6.6 volt A123's. Spektrum servo's must be OK with 6 volt as their tech support says to use 6 volt 2700 Mah minimum when you use lots of servo's. I...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

I'm thinking of converting to A123s also. What exactly are you using? Which charger did you get?

Thanks

RE: Spektrum DX-7

You should do a range check! Just turn every thing on and wait for it to sync up. Press that funny button on the back, hold it down and walk 30 paces away. Have someone watch the helicopter, no...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

I've been using the "stock" batteries for a couple of years now with no problems in my sport and scale 40 and 60 sized planes. I do use a voltwatch to monitor the battery and charge if it gets below...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

If you wouldn't mind, could you post more info or links to this info? I just checked Horizon's web site and didn't see any bulletins or any mention of an "anti-brownout" upgrade on the AR7000.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Heli-NuBee,

I believe you just need to re-bind the receiver with the gear switch in the down position. Read about the fail safe feature.

Hey Goose,

If you get a chance to test it, I'd be interested in the results. I bought a couple of them before I learned they were made for cars. I've been wondering if they would do any thing...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Just wondering if anyone else's DX7 transmitter is peeling, mine looks like it got a sunburn. The paint job is coming off, no effect on operation. Just looks.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

It's for a smooth throttle instead of one that has clicks. I'm told the heli pilots like that. Open the back and look at the throttle stick, you'll see what it's for.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

I've been flying my DX7 since they first came out and the closest I can come to coming unbound is having them (the tx & rx) not connect once in a while. A simple turning off of the rx and waiting a...

I have to agree with that! There are so many variables but with enough recipes "the rest of us" could figure it out!

That's been my experience also. The throttle will go to fail safe position and all other surfaces remember last good signal. The other settings are only remembered at switch on... bind with gear...
