You are cheating,,,,,:D.....original Tx AND original Rx is the way to go. Easy to say though, not that easy to do. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to make a Controlaire receiver work...

You are right about the length too........forgot about it, as I was using the formula from memory. Must be Alzheimers.....

Other then that, I too suspect the Controlaire is your...

No offense, but I believe the inductance values differ a lot more than .3 uH. Looking at the Controlaire and Testors coil values, I notice the number of turns are rather similar...
