RE: Mcpx what has failed you?

So far, no component has failed. One servo is jittery a bit but not enough to prevent flying.

Repair parts so far,

4 main links that broke during crashes.
1 main gear with a crack on the...

RE: MPX FUNCOPTER!!!

Ours had a nasty tail vibe which was caused by something in the main rotor.

I balanced the main and it did not get better.
I took the head off and ran the motor and found main shaft wobble.

RE: heli for a 5 year old...

I believe the first step in learning to fly heli is learning about balance (hover). MCX bypasses this important aspect. After seeing the durability of the new Blade MSR, I'm inclined to...

RE: heli for a 5 year old...

I have a mixed feeling about mcx for young children. Being durable is a double edged sword. Although it is good that it can take punishment, it may also give a wrong impression that it is ok to hit...

RE: 7 Year Old Justin Jee - Stick Cam Video from IRCHA 2009

It is three years but not the way most people think he practices. For the past two years, Justin has been a weekend flyer. This is because I've been working in another state during the week and...

RE: Blade 400

LOL :D

Actually, Justin Jee spared me from all that frustration [X(] by learning everything on his own. I had plans of teaching him when he got around 7-8 when he can understand words and...

RE: 2 and a half year old pilot!!!

Unfortunately, this is a catch 22 situation.

You don't want to spend much money until you like it.   But, you won't get to feel how good and easy a heli can be until you spend much money. :(
So,...

RE: 2 and a half year old pilot!!!

When we both started on the heil in May 2006, my learning curve was much faster than Justin's. But, around 5-6th month, he started to excel and flew right past me. At that time, especially right...

RE: *** RCU Coverage of XFC ***

Thanks for asking!

I am 100% in spirit. I am more concerned about my wife giving me an earful everytime I have to walk up to a flight line though. :(
I don't know how long it takes for the nose...

RE: MLD-28 gasoline engine

</p>

Although the module states operating voltage higher than 6v, based on my two modules failing after about same hours on it (3-4 or so) on 2s LiPo direct, I suggest sticking to 5cell nicad/nimh...

RE: MLD-28 gasoline engine

I would not try it, but the ignition modual has the voltage range of 4.8v-14.5v :D
Anybody want to test it on 3s lipo and report the findings? :D

RE: MLD-28 gasoline engine

The ignition on MLD is robust enough to take 2s lipo directly. This is how we run ours and should reduce number of connections. If you don't like to run lipo then you can run LiFe(a123) 2s packs.

RE: MLD-28 gasoline engine

The stopper supplied with the tank is for glow. Even if you use the gas stopper, due to 10% ethanol use in gas, it will not last long. We need gas/glow proof stoppers.

RE: MLD-28 gasoline engine

After about 30 flights with zero hickup on MLD28, the engine suddenly developed what appears to be a faulty ignition problem with occational back firing and rough run to no response and eventually...

Jimeni

I guess I'll have to test the vess 18x6 then. I like the two aspects you mentioned. Lighter and faster spoolup. :D

RE: MLD-28 gasoline engine

The engine is still on its 1st gallon after about 10 flights on Cermark Yak54. We've been running APC 17x6 until today. There was a definite lack of available thrust to pull the plane out of...

RE: Simulator to practice heli 3D and airplane 3D

I believe FS One was $180 w/o the box initially. It is now $79. If it goes down a bit more, it might be worth it as a reasonable low cost sim.
