Below are links to green and red replacement LED's from Radio Shack's eBay store. I don't know if they carry them in their regular brick and mortar stores. The resistor is required only for the red...

Yes, you can hook them up to your reciever. However, you will need to use a 100ohm resistor on each LED and connect them in parallel.
