Just to start I can begin to answer my own question.  Blackfoot Extreme rear wheels are standard 2.2 size and are also 12mm hex :)  Fronts are the usual 12mm hex freewheeling hubs so need to look...

I did - its just an inspired superb idea! B&amp;Q is the best place to get all sorts of U-channel from - then some work with a hacksaw, drill and file - the B&amp;Q stuff is 15mmx15mm and about a fiver.

The only rules for the class it runs in are "pre 1990" and "Silver Can 27t motor only" - so brushless systems are out. It does run on 2S lipo which helps. Weather permitting I am going to the track...
