RE: Goldberg Extra 300

The 91 would certainly give a much better prop for this plane but at higher rpm the airframe would need a low pitch prop, I'm a 4 stroke junkie now so I have a Saito 150 in mine and flies it...

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

Nice engines but a 11 inch prop would make it look like one of those kids rides at Walmart LOL Originally it had a 60 size but slower rpm than those beasts but had larger props.

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

When I built mine back on page 2 of this thread I built the rudder larger than stock, Really gives it some extra authority on maneuvers that need the rudder. A friend also built one around the time I...

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

Some seem to be lighter wood than others, The one I built with a 150 on it is about 10 1/2 pounds and the other one I forget how heavy but was a bit heavier wood. Have a OS 108 I might put on it and...

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

Not sure why I didn't put it in this thread way back then but I used the punchout and did the same on the nose to get to the tank when building much like i did for the rear servos on page 2. I also...

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

Putting the servos midway down the tail worked well, I think my post was on page 3 about it. To get to the servos I put the punched out ply back with tabs in the corners to and it definately helped...

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

Yes I fly in Dartmouth mostly at the Bristol county R/C club, It's at a farm behind Salvadors ice cream, A smaller club but not a bad field and a pretty good group of members.

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

Don't worry about the weight too much, Mine has a Saito 150 with duel elevator servos and came in at a little over 10lbs and flies great and slows down nicely for landings. This plane seems to handle...

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

I Painted the inside, It actually makes it shine with the clear plastic on the outside so the paint matched the Monokote a little better.

RE: Goldberg Extra 300

One of the mods I did was to use duel elevator servos but I hate servos sticking out of the plane soi used one of the punched out sections midway to the tail and hald the cover on with servo screws.
