RE: Gaudius

After having lost my Leviosa for a stupid mistake (one screw...), I received rather unexpectedly a Gaudius instead of a second Leviosa... No problem! The planes flies great and - set up as per...

RE: Wind S Pro problems

Page 4 of the assembly manual states that 2-3 mm of down-elevator is normal. I have a Wind S (Massimo Selva's WC plane) and can confirm the correctness of this statement.

RE: Columbia 2010 WOW

Alejandro,

thank you very much for your insightful report. I guess this is why we spend a lot of money on these planes: to meet people like all of you. Awesome! :)

RE: MasterSpin 99 low voltage cut

Thank you very much for sharing this. Only one question: why use the hard cut-off when the soft ("throttle reduce") cut-off should prevent you early enough of the imminent power shortage?
Thanks...

RE: European Championship In AUSTRIA

Thanks :)
I never said he is not biased. I was merely trying to put into perspective that there are errors committed on either side of the flight line. With the two examples posted, one could argue...

RE: European Championship In AUSTRIA

Re biasing, I have to say that sometimes (sometimes!) one judge prefers one particular flying style that matches a competitor and thus he seems "biased" towards him, while another one does not like...

RE: European Championship In AUSTRIA

Individual results are up: http://www.f3a-ec.eu/pdf/res_individual.pdf
CPLR is in front, followed VERY close by Seba. Everybody else (including Mayr) doesn't seem to keep the pace of the two front...

I hope you don't mind if I provide some more links to reports live from Austria...
My good friend Christian Rannetshauser (team GER team manager and F3A-Hydro pilot) and his son are also reporting...

RE: European Championship In AUSTRIA

As usual, Ola Fremming (team Norway) is reporting from the EC on his blog:

RE: European Cup for F3A on floats

Hi papaone,
I attended the competition in Peyrolles, very nice venue and excellent weather (a bit windy, but no problem for us). The CA Eclipse in the picture was flown by Julien Quellier, which is...

RE: European Cup for F3A on floats

Hi 'Mvelez',

Actually with "F3A on floats" I said something stupid. Of course it's F3A planes on floats, but the schedules and the atmosphere are something unique to float flying and deserve...

RE: European Cup for F3A on floats

There have been attempts at recreating a "small" Schneider Trophy with R/C model airplanes. There still is, if I recall correctly, something like this in Texas, with big planes.
What we do is...

RE: Sebart Wind S Pro

I didn't mean to start a controversy about these planes.
I own one, being the "A" plane of Massimo Selva at last year's F3A World Championship, where he finished 29th. He flew the WindS's...

RE: European Cup for F3A on floats

Hi Joe,

The planes are usually standard pattern (F3A) planes, there are exceptions of course. I currently fly a Leviosa (www.f3alorenz.de), but used PLProd Larimar, CA Models Eclipse and others...

European Cup for F3A on floats

Hi there,
just to report that the European Cup for F3A-H (on floats) was held past weekend in Endine Gaiano (near Bergamo, Italy) and was an excellent competition.
Float-fly F3A planes are...

RE: Sebart Wind S Pro

One WindS Pro lost both ailerons at a competition last weekend in Switzerland. The pilot was flying an inverted cuban eight with 2/4 point rolls, so nothing "extreme", when both ailerons separated....

RE: Sebart Wind S Pro

Hi Luis,

I have the same plane (used to be San Marino pilot Massimo Selva's plane at the worlds last year) and it has almost the same issue. I spoke with him about it (although I must say he was...

RE: Is it LEGAL to fly Commercial with Large Lithium Batteries?

Are you sure? If we assume a 10S, 5000 mAh Pack (it's either more or less, but 5Ah is about average), I get (using the provided formula):
>> 5000 mAh / 1000 x 42V = 210 Wh
Anyone with more...

RE: Thinking about electric in my next pattern project

Ciao Stek,

check out the weights: 585g for the Plettenberg against 652g for the Axi. Plus you get a much better efficiency, that means running the same RPM with lower Amps on the Pletty....

RE: Spark F3A, from Krill Models - SPAIN TEAM

We'll surely wait for an answer from the thread opener, but I'm pretty sure that what the designer wanted to achieve is a lower wingtip weight which should translate in better snap capability...

RE: 90 4 stroke,Electric Equivalent?

It mainly depends on the application. If you can be a bit more specific, that would surely help [8D].
For a pattern/3D plane a good rule of thumb is to have about 350W or more per kg flying weight....

RE: http://www.a123systems.com

This type of Lipo (well, it's not exactly a LiPo as per definition...) has been available since 2005 under different names (Konion, BMZ 26650, etc.). Gerd Giese's excellent site listed and tested it...
