RE: CG FOR SEAGULL AT6 TEXAN

One more note. When I wrote the original notes I may have failed to remember that my calcs would be at the 9 inch rib. I'm curious as to where on the wing they said you should make the measurement....

RE: CG FOR SEAGULL AT6 TEXAN

I just tried to reply and screwed it up so you may find two replies. This one should be complete.

Ok here is an easy and nearly exact way to find the CG of most any wing.

RE: New Radios and AMA

Here's a thought for all. As a long time modeler and long time amateur radio operator, I have seen many frequency changes by the FCC to both hobbies. I really believe that as 2.4 ghz becomes more...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Ok thanks sigrun. Sorry I didn't think about where I was making comments. I originally got in here to ask Dan if he knew what was causing my problem. So I'll bow out for now and go enjoy the...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Ok, seems the problem I had is gone. Charging and using the Spektrum with my Sirius charger many times and all is fine. Unless the problem returns, this will be my last reply on the subject.

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Really good info sigrun. I instructed for years and purchased the Sirius in 1999 for the same reasons. Do you have any comments about the fuse blowing? I want to let everyone know that since my...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Well first I have a couple of reasons to use the Sirius Peak charger. I cannot plan my field trips ahead any more so I have a self containd box with battery, meters and a Sirius charger. Anytime I...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Problem not resolved! After the second Sirius charge of the Spektrum transmitter I turned it on an it worked fine. I went to the field, turned it on and it blew the fuse. So now I know it is not...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Dan,

Update! I decided to go ahead and take the chance. I reduced the ouput of my Sirius to 500 ma and plugged it into the DX7. This time the green charge light lit and it is charging. I am...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Dan,

I also meant to tell you that my Serius max output is 1 amp and it was set on that when I plugged it in. I have 3 settings, 250 ma, 500 ma and 1000 ma.

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Dan, Thanks for the fast reply. Yes the center pin is negative. What I didn't make clear was that I used the same reverse polarity connector on my Serius as I use to charge my JR 10X. I'm an old...

RE: Field charger use on DX7

Dan,

I have the DX7 Transmitter. I tried to charge it with my Sirius Peak Charger. It blew the fuse. I did use the reverse polarity connector. If there is no diode then why would the fuse...

RE: YS 63 Leaking Regulator

Ok Dave,

The test run today started out fine but didn't last long. After slightly stretching the spring, I was able to adust the reg nearly flush with the top. However after a few runs the reg...

RE: YS 63 Leaking Regulator

I replaced the large one with a new 53, 63 plunger. About the spring I just got desperate. I seems like it is not long enough. Or maybe too weak. Since I had to screw the adjustment screw all the...

RE: YS 63 Leaking Regulator

Thanks Dave,

That's what I thought and so screwed the adjustment all the way in. I only got less than one full turn out when the engine would start and upon shutoff a lot of fuel leakage from...

RE: YS 63 Leaking Regulator

Basinbum,

Thanks for your reply. However I have managed to adjust all my ys engines including a YS 11O so that not more than a drop of fuel leaves the carb after shutdown and without releasing...

YS 63 Leaking Regulator

Dave,

I have 5 ys 53's and have rebuilt the regs as needed on most with great results. However, I have 2 YS 63's, both have recent complete new parts in the regs. Unfortunately both regs leak...

RE: Tiered rates: revisited by Dave Brown

Take my word for it, when you tell all members they are responsible for policing other members your club will end up with many enemies as did ours. Several members left the club, others had to be...

RE: Tiered rates: revisited by Dave Brown

Why not drop the mandatory magazine that I am sure not all of us want. Dues could probably be reduced by at least 30 bucks a year while reducing AMA's costs. That might make all flyers not object...

RE: How many of you use HAM Ban radios?

I don't see a problem with the ham bands. I am currently flying on the 53 mhz band and no problems. I have used the RC ham bands starting in 1975. Some of the problems you stated were caused...

RE: Seeker II and Futaba 9cap

Both the original Seeker and the Seeker II work with the Hitec Spectra module. The Seekers do not work with the Futaba Synth Module. That module has an extra pulse. You should be able to use any...

RE: Help with AT6 Texan CG

Thanks, I can use that calculator. Although I did finally get the CG figured out. In the end it came out where the manual said. What fooled me was that the front of the AT6 win just squares off...

Help with AT6 Texan CG

I posted this on the ARF discussion but most persons building ARF's probably do not have to figure the CG. This AT6 has been nothing but truble and I hope to learn by making it easy to land. Hope...
