RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

For that matter brushless motors require brushless escapes and although there now are combination brushed/brushless ESCs that cost would simply be passed onto the consumer one way or another. ...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

There is a large blue button on Castle's home page--it has CONTACT on it.

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Basically, anyplace that sells RC airplanes should have them. The Tower website search engine on the RCU webpages should also take you to a few different brands of lipo batts.

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Thanks. My day today--visit 3 LHS, one off-road track, watch NASCAR/Champ Cars Live, and then check the posts, again. It's already very late or early in the morning and here I am answering a few of...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

First of all, your post had himax or AON. Second, if you would have checked "MyModels" you would see that my KMI has an AON in it and it also has which model AON. Third, if you would have also...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

You can always check "MyModels" to see what I'm running.

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

The gearing is going to depend on what you think you can handle. Trinity does make a four pack of metal gears that should fit; however, I've found that the Robinson Racing gears appear to fit...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

If anything when running a brushless motor in the KMI, the slipper probably needs to be tightened even more than what is recommended in the manual--it is also intentionally shipped loose. The stock...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

I have most of those parts except for the chassis, deck, and a couple of others. In my opinion, the combination front arm mount bumper bends way too easily. I'll probably eventually just cut the...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

If you are going to run a brushless motor, you need a brushless ESC such as the Mamba-25.

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

I'm doing fine, but sometimes this mod stuff eats up a lot of time. I'm also sort of looking at houses as well. However, I'll be demo'ing in California soon and racing in California the week after....

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

That's why I prefer to use the CM-2080 (8000kv) in something like an Xray M18 or a mini-buggy. However, I tried the CM-2080 in one of my Kyosho Mini-Infernos and it likes to run hotter than the AON...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Same to you. I still haven't ran the M18 since we spoke, but plan to this weekend in between running the Zs. If the motor temps don't drop, I'll give you another ring. And thanks for dropping by...

I changed the gearing, but currently have the timing at default.

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

I just got off the telephone with Shawn regarding my motor temps and set up. He suggested that I lower the timing. I also informed him about the numerous temp posts and questions on RCU, so he may...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

I may just call him and ask him. And since he is a member of this forum, I may even ask that he follow up his reply with a post on RCU.

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

A joke. If that's true, then why "twunt" or the combining of two words that I can't type on this board without getting into trouble with the mods?

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Another dumb smart *****. This is a "MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread" and apparently unlike you, I can pretty much take temp readings from about anywhere on the motor. And your hair is probably brown...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

If you are going to continue to post temps, you probably should post a few other factors too, i.e. temp gun used, ambient temperature, and where you are taking the readings from on the motor. As I...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Using the Raytek MiniTemp, it read anywhere from 115*F to around 225*F depending on where I put the laser on the motor. The motor appeared the hottest near the wires and the coolest near the gear if...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Hobby Visions is also soon, so I may find something there too. It's just that I don't know if I'll be driving the M18 too or not since it will depend on how large of a track is going to be used. ...

RE: MAMBA Brushless Motor Thread!

Irish,
I haven't ordered anything from one18th though I have thought about it. I did email my friend in Cali today about more M18 parts and the status. If he can't get them soon, I may just place...
