Where to find a glider kit with aileron controls

After years of flying, I have finally begun looking into moving into the world of powered gliders. There are many great ARF models out on the market, but I am more interested in building mine from a...

I am looking for the capacity vs voltage plots for my Great Planes lipo batteries. Is there a place I can go to get these or does someone out there have access to these? The curves need to be...

Rimfire vs AXI for Great Planes Reactor

I am looking to get the Great Planes Reactor, but am having second thoughts about what motor I should get. I have an AXI motor for another plane and I love it.

So, my question is what is your...

Extending Battery Life

This isn't really geared towards RC flight, but is about Li-Pos in general.

Is it best to wait until your Li-Po is completely drained (but still within the voltage limits) before recharging, or...

I have been looking for plans for an Edge 540 for a long time but can't find them. Does anyone know where I could find it? I absolutely love this plane and would like to fly one (since the full...

RE: Brushless motor AND servos with one LiPo battery???

You plug it in to your throttle channel which is #3 for mine, but yours may be different.

RE: Brushless motor AND servos with one LiPo battery???

Yes you can. The power coming to the receiver from the ESC will power the servos.

RE: LiPo chargers. What is the best?

Let me rephrase that. I feel like the charger is overcharging at least one of the cells in my pack. The pack isn't that old though, so I don't understand how the cells can be that out of balance so...

LiPo chargers. What is the best?

I currently have the Great Planes PolyCharge Lithium Polymer DC Charger and I feel like it continuously overcharges my batteries. I don't know if anyone has had this problem or if it is even one.

RE: Failsafe help

I think you can put it there or between any of your servos and the receiver. If you put the failsafe between the receiver and the esc, it will only work for the throttle.

Propeller Data

I was wondering if anyone has done any testing to determine the thrust, power consumption, etc of different types of props from different manufacturers. Or, do you know of a link where all this info...

RE: Soldering question

The bigger the soldering iron the better. You do not want to use a 40w iron because it will take too long to get the tab hot enough. When you gradually heat up the battery tab like that, you run...

RE: Thrust to weight?

This link will help you out: http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17914

Now, like that Leo said, you don't want ducted fans. They are used in aircraft that travel at high speeds and...

RE: Battery Life - Real-time meter

I don't know of anything like that out there, but it is a good idea for those who aren't experienced enough to feel when the battery is about dead, or for those who do aerobatics and want to know if...

RE: Glue

Basically any glue will work for a part with a large surface area. I would use Elmers like recommended above. Its cheap and pretty light. When you try to glue parts without a lot of surface area,...

RE: Fliton JJ H-A20-20L Mounting Question

If you could post pictures of your plane with the cowling off (so I can see the mounting location) I should be able to help you. I can't really tell anything from the pictures on the company website.

RE: Switch in the Battery leads of my ESC

You will have to have a pretty beefy switch to be able to handle the current that the lipo will be dishing out. Those kinds of switches aren't light, nor small. And even if you did get the correct...

RE: so im pretty new to the r/c world. any tips

I would recommend a trainer, without a doubt. There were some mentioned above that are good. Real planes handle completely differently than RC planes. Just go to youtube and watch videos of full...

RE: Wing-Lift Increasing Idea (Tested by me)!!!!

I still have to disagree with your claim here. The first Messerschmidt was a small, piston-driven aircraft. You mean to tell me that the turbine engine was not a huge advancement in aircraft...

RE: [Deleted]

Actually, the tail-mounted engines became less popular for many reasons. You don't have to have a system to pump fuel from the wings to the rear of the plane. You have more flutter dampening with...
