RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hey, I thought I would retask my cub as a fun semi-aerobatic slug. We already do combat with these and they are just too fun to fly around. Now I just finished up my custom igniter circuit for my...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I agree that the stang is just too cool. I loved seeing it fly, when it did. The outline of the plane was awesome in the air. But up at altitude I think the bird just doesnt have the aero. After...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I am referring to the PZ spitfire vs. the PZ mustang.

The spit is faster than the cub. If you put a li-po 2200mAH pack in the spit it is a bit faster and will easily outrun a sc. Its a nice...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I wouldnt go for the mustang. It is the oldest of the models and is hard as heck to launch. Older electronics as well. I have been through 3 bodies and 2 wings with mine. It is just too hard to...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I am not sure it is that much work really. I literally spent about 1 minute doing the entire mod. The dremel allows the batt to fit in and lock in place. Always more than one way to skin a cat.

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Ya I have a stryker c. It is a beast compared to the cub. It goes like a house on fire and turns likes its on rails.

It is an "upgrade" for sure, and I have learned to respect the power of...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Yeah my cub is stock - 480 brushed motor and Rx. I tried going brushless with the typhoon 2 motor and ESC, but man you get way too much vib in the gear box. So I am back to stock now.

Flight...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

The cub will take a 9-cell nimh no problem. You will have to cut away some of the foam inside the fusleage so the 9-cell fits in the batt compartment. Basically take a dremel with a cutting wheel...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

ok, then your issue is slightly different than mine. My throttle slider had no effect on the motor at all. The motor just ramped up and stayed at WOT. I thought it was my Rx since that made the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

hunter, I had a similar issue with my cub after a crash. When I plugged up the battery, my motor would increase to full throttle exponentially - although faster than you are seeing on yours. ...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hey,

Yeah I first used the parkzone light module but it didnt help much at night. It was marginal at dusk. I will try and explain what I did. I need to get more pics of the actual light setup...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

BTW, I am not sure if anyone is remotely interested but here is a short video of the night flying lights I designed for my SC. It has 4 light modes - off, taxi mode, full-on flight mode, and...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I recently got a Super Cub and I really love this thing. It is easy to fly for a beginner, I was hesitant in the beginning but I was soon hooked!

I just started a new venture with my SC - night...
