RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Hi Guys,

I was going to sell my Twist 40, but a buddy convinced me to keep it. He says that it makes a great float flyer. Has anyone here put a Twist 40 on floats?
If you did, what was your...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

What was your source for that SR-71. I can't find a website for Flyboy models (never heard of them), and the distributors I've found don't have a SR-71.

Thanks,

Bob

For anyone who has a TT Pro 46 in theirs, try putting in a 12.25X3.75 (TH LX1577), then hold on...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

PmikeyG,

As a suggestion, try a 12x3.75 3D prop first with the .46. I swapped my 11x6 out for that and was amazed at the difference in power.

Just my $.02

Enjoy. It's an all-around fun airplane. Hard to get a good spin out of it, but it'll do what you want.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

That's a good prop for a TT Pro 46... I got good revs with mine...

Also using a wood 12x4 with good luck.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

So, you're saying that the piece of debris was acting like a one-way valve? Hmmm, never thought of that happening... I would have presumed that if it was clogged, it was clogged both ways.

Here's an off-beat suggestion... I once replaced the fuel tubing, and accidentally substituted a piece with a very narrow ID... I have no idea where that piece ever came from... I just grabbed it...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Ugh, that's a shame about having to use JB Weld. I'm running a TT Pro 46, and don't seem to have an issue with that... but others have.

I just had a fun thought... I've got a OS -55AX and I...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I'm trying to remember... that wing hold-down might have been a metric thread. If it was, I would have changed that out for a 1/4"-20 so that I could buy the bolts at Lowes or Home Depot. But, you...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Surferguy,

Try a 12x4 wood prop. That's what I use. My TT Pro tachs up at over 11,300 with that. It doesn't fly very fast, but it's got good pull. But 3D's like our Twists aren't supposed to...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I'm running one Twist 40 on a TT Pro 46 and a 12x4 prop. It hovers, but not a lot of pull-out, but I think I can get a bit more out of the engine.

I just maidened my electrified Twist 40 today...

Nitrobeast, I agree with Downtrodden. I've shortened them before by cutting them to length with a fine X-Acto saw, then lightly trimming the first 1/4 to 1/2 thread and removing any burrs. Make...

Something is definitely wrong here and...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I've been flying the OS 55AX in a Cermark Javelin II and really like the power. I think it's on par with an OS 61 myself. Using a 12x6 prop and 10% nitro. It's given me enough confidence to get...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I tried a 12x4 APC on a TT 46 Pro and it pulled beautifully. If you can't find the 12.25 x 3.75, you might consider one of these until you can find the 12.25 diameter prop.
