I go with electric starters 100%. I log roughly a couple hundred hours of 1/2A flying per year and have never bent a rod. The prop nut will go flying off before the rod bends. Some engines don't have...

A little heat from a heat gun or propane torch can help [use gloves], even could try a toaster oven on low. Bear in mind that a little heat goes a long way. Pliers work wonders if you don't have the...

I do something with new Norvels that takes 15 minutes and makes firing up a new one easier. Take off the head and backplate, then douse the internals with transmission fluid or MMO. Chuck the prop...
