RE: converting from electric to gas

I've done it many times when ep was really expensive because of the batteries.  Now with the Chinese selling batteries so cheap, I've gone back to electric.  Batteries at 1/4 the cost of US brands...

RE: OMP Fusion vs OMP Razor Yak 56

I have a Razor Yak with a Saito 125. It came out very tail heavy; cg was at 9.25" Moved the battery allthe way forward and mounted it on the back of the engine with a piece of foam. I still needed 8...

RE: Razor Yak ?? CG ??

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply. The servos are JR ST125MG. They are standard sized (and standard weight) servos with 125 in/oz torque and metal gears. Not a bad servo for 30 bucks. They won't...

RE: Please post Saito 125 rpms..

Saito 125
Sea level
15% Nitro-18%oil
MAS 16x68800 (9000 peak)

Seems like lots of us are getting similar readings. Motor is fairly new, maybe one gallon. Always has run perfect although...

RE: Razor Yak ?? CG ??

Mounted Saito 125 forward in the mount, strapped the battery to the tank and zip tied both just behind the engine. Receiver in forward wing bay. JR 125s all around. Balanced just over 9" Stuck on...

RE: RC Report Online!! For Real!!

What a sad day! I picked up my final issue of RCR at the local hobby shop, glanced at the headline and began to realize right then and there how much that magazine meant to me. Some birthday...

Recommend an airplane

Hi guys, I need some help.

At the swap meet, yesterday, I found the little .26 4 stroke I'd been looking for and in an attempt to sweeten the deal, the seller through in an old K&B .65...

RE: E-flite Ultimate FX

I flew electric for two years before I got my first slimer. I fly both now with a great deal of joy! I'm flying Ultimate FX, Furious, and the Charger CR-1 in electric. I started glow flying with...

RE: harrier 46 dry weight

Hi RCpilet,

I just spent a week in Colorado. Took an electric 3D foamy with me. I went up an inch in diameter and noticed very little difference in flight from here at sea level. I'm curious...

RE: harrier 46 dry weight

My Harrier 46 with OS 46 AX weighs 5 lb 14 oz. A bit heavy for good 3D but very lively for sport-pattern flying. A good .40 would fly it nicely for sport use. For 3D stuff, the 46 AX didn't do it...

RE: Mini Edge Setup

Hi Shane,

The good news is that these little electrics fly exactly like the big gas and glow as long as there isn't much wind. I recently went the other way and tried glow 3D after several...

RE: E-flite Ultimate....the new one

Hi Guys! I have flown this plane with a 760 outrunner (no good), a 920 outrunner (not bad) with both 1200 3cell and 2480 3 cell.

The 760 is going back into the E-Starter on floats where it...

3.5 lb plane

I know someone here can help me out! I am brand new to glow flying but have lots of experience with pattern and 3D small electric. My friends at the flying field decided I would enjoy cleaning up...

RE: Overheating eFlight Brushless and ESC?

That set up will draw 45+ amps, way too much for the e-flite 400. That motor will last if you keep the amp draw around 20. a 4x3 looks real good for direct drive use. Amp draw about 20, static...

RE: AXI 2208 Amp Draw_I'm Confused?

Shake, rattle, and rolling is what they do after you smack 'em in real hard. I've lots of experience there. My unsmacked motors, when subjected to amp abuse alone, have just slowed down. It's hard...

RE: AXI 2208 Amp Draw_I'm Confused?

My pockets aren't really deep enough so I must really be a dumb s---! I recently decided to put an E-Flite 370-5400 to a distruction test. This motor is a smaller version of their 400 motor. I...

RE: PLEASE HELP. W/ Himax 2025

You do have a mesh problem. You must set up the gear mesh yourself. I've found the Cobri gear box stands up to the punishment about 10 times better than any of the plastic boxes. Get one of those...

RE: brushless formosa help

I flew my Formosa with a Himax 2025-4200 with 2S 1500 and 11x8 SF prop. Good increase over the stock set up. Nice verticle up to about 150, maybe 200 feet. After I wore those batteries out, I...

RE: AXI 2208 Amp Draw_I'm Confused?

I've been running my 2208/34 motor with 3S and 10x3.8 for about a year now. Performance has not degraded although the set-up sucks down about 15 amps at WOT. Because this is more than twice the...

RE: Big problem with motor shaft

The e-flite shafts break easily. The magnets will pop too. I've found that the five I've broken in the past year or so relate right back to the operator (me). Pinion gear pressing must be...

RE: brushless motor/esc/lipo combo for GWS PT-17

One more thing. E-Flight makes an ESC/BEC that sells for around $40.00. I've had very good luck with mine. It's in a Mini-Funtana with the 400 motor and it seems to be good for a bit more than its...

RE: brushless motor/esc/lipo combo for GWS PT-17

Yes!!

E-flite 400 geared 5.3/1 (C ratio in GWS terms) and APC 11x4.8 running off 3S 1500 to 2450 ma lipos will pull the Steerman verticle in a most un-stock way. It will draw about 150 watts at...

RE: E-Flite 400 Brushless

Don't screw those little suckers in so tight! I've been using E-fight 400 motors for a few months in several types of usage. I've never run them at more than 20 amps, but that draw off 3s 2400 with...

RE: GWS dual IPS drive

Enough so That I have to move the battery back about 1/2" to maintain CG. I've never weighed the plane but it still flies real light and will poke along as well as ever.
