RE: Fix those broken Aerohawk Blades!

It's indeed fairly simple to cut blades out of a bottle or bucket if you find plastic of the right curvature. Way easier than making wooden blades as you don't bother with covering, coating or...

RE: Tired of breaking tail rotors

That's the trick! I always cut throttle in time and have never broaken any blades. Your heli will be fine even to fall from the height of your ceiling.

RE: Fix those broken Aerohawk Blades!

There are ways to make your own blades, like cutting plastic container or thick plastic bottle.

I also agree, reparing a broken blade is really a bad idea.

RE: No Swashplate Technology

That's great, sauske! Is the control variable or 2-state? I mean are you varying the magnet strength or justing switching it on and off?

RE: Aerohawk brushes modifications ?

Done that many times. Check the link here.

For the tail motor, you should make the brushes small and as a pair, or they would cause too much drag and draw too much current. For both main motor...

RE: Draganflyer formilitary use???

This is interesting! I remember seen on TV small birds (both fixed wings and micro helis) used by the military, operated remotely from a laptap. The birds are sophisticated and fly way better than...

RE: First Heli

The Aerohawk has a neater and stronger rotor head than any other micro helis, meaning you won't need headstiffener mod later. The main mast is shorter and the main gear is smaller in diameter than...

RE: Switch on tx then plug in batt.....why???

Because I may have forgotten to switch on the TX first. I just want to feel safe in case I became careless. I don't want my car run full gear if I forget to engage the gear box.

With so much...

RE: Is there a cure for the HB tail?

Maybe lipo is not necessary. But DD motor is heavier and sucks more power without as much efficiency gain...all these translate into shorter run time if you use stock Nimh.

RE: My New Tail Section for Dragonfly.

That's pretty! Looks like the real thing. I guess you get better torque balance now as the tail thrust is nearer the main rotor plate.

RE: Sick of heli makers knowingly selling crap

Ya, the cheapie helies are best compared to a demo version of software. More to pay if you want continue.

RE: Switch on tx then plug in batt.....why???

I have wondered the same thing. Why they didn't make it more "failsafe".

I think it has to do with efficient control. Defaulting the setting to full throttle when the signal is lost ensures more...

RE: Dragon RC Helicopter: Same as the Aero Hawk?

Dragonfly is not the same as Aerohawk, the latter has neater and stronger head. The size is about the same according to my observation and data provided by Super-Hornet.

The video is a Skylark,...

RE: Is there a cure for the HB tail?

The same thing happens to Aerohawk. I read others solved the problem by going to direct tail drive. But that requires Lipo power at the same time, or flight time go down by half.

Other than...

RE: BTT Cupid might have better design than Dragonfly/Hummingbird

I thought Cupid is similar to Aerohawk in size and structure, especially the rotor head is identical. Now that you mention Dragonfly is larger than Cupit, that's something new, because I have read...

RE: AERO HAWK HELI SUCKS

The Aerohawk flies well stock if you set it up right. It actually does not like upgrades. Your problem seems to be too much added weight with all that mods, making it underpowered. Be patient, it...

RE: Hard to fly or just hard to set up?

If the heli was made perfectly balanced - weight to the mmmgrams, blade to the mmmmeters, constant power input, constant motor torque, even blade lift etc..., and all conditions perfect including air...

RE: Your Electric Heli model & Components here.......

Stock Aerohawk with DIY mods:

- holes in blades, flybar paddles, tail rotor: reduced head weight, increased lift and reduced blade drag
- cutdown/trimdown: 5% blades/flybar paddles
10% tail...

RE: flybarless heli

Flybarless gives more dramatic to extreme heli controls. Unless you have CP and fly 3D, you're better off with flybar.

RE: modified hb blades!

I've also trimmed down my aerohawk blades. But I think the blade should be cut proportional from root to tip, and probably with the tips cut more. Otherwise, the tips will produce relatively more...

RE: Hummingbird boom

I've shortened my Aerohawk tail boom by 2.5 cm as part of a 5-8% overall cut down. I use the stock tail gear, no problem whatsoever. It actually makes the heli look more cool. The original tail boom...

RE: DIY Dragonfly Shaft Collar

Metal flybar makes the head heavy which is not good for stability. Adding weight to flybar ends helps stability through gyroscopic effecti. Some CF blades have weighted tip to improve stability.

RE: Aerohawk vs the Fun Piccolo

I'm not sure what pro is different from stock aerohawk, but I think it has better motors and probably a better gyro.
