My canard is only for appearance. The Katmai has a moveable trailing edge, just like an elevator. I would have done that too, except I didn't want to tie up 2 servos for that feature....

The canard is for STOL operations ( Short TakeOff and Landing). Helps to reduce stall speed to around 35 knots. Google Cessna Katmai and you see more. Thanks for the compliment. I am very pleased...

This is my slightly bashed CMP 182. Just painted dark gray where it was red, added a canard behind the engine ala Cessna Katmai. Magnum 1.2 fs, Hitec radio with Extreme Power Systems 2.4, R0obart...
