Yea I know, but since we don't use tuned pipes a muffler baffle has similar effects. If we used tuned pipes, maybe varying the port height between 140 and 180 degrees could help lessen the light...

I can see an advantage for better throttle control and part throttle fuel efficiency but not for total power generation. Snow machines finally got simple exhaust valves for better cruise efficiency...
