A good way to protect your Lipos is to stop flying them when you start to notice the power dropping off. Don't try to stretch them out too long!

Great choice!

With 3S lipos, but with a 3T brushless motor I would opt. for a 35 amp CC Phoenix esc over the 25 amp.

Make sure the throttle AND throttle trim if there is one is in the full off position, then see if it doesn't arm then.

The 4T Mega works great with the XS airframe. A 6x4 APC prop is a good prop as well, seeing that your at a pretty low elevation there in Michigan.
I like the Mega's myself.

5.5X4.5 should work good on that set-up with NIMh's. It should keep you from pulling too many amps through your CC25 amp esc.;)

You might check the CG on your Tazz. It's a beutifully flying airplane if the CG is correct, along with the trim being set up correctly. Sounds like it never recovered from the stall...

An awesome pack for the Tazz is made up with the FAUP1950 Sanyo cells. Probably the best pack short of going to a Lipo.
