I bought a built model,Nicely done,and the manual the builder gave me says "at the rear of main spar" My scanner is broke,or I would scan it for you.Hope this helps.

The picture on the box shows a "Air Force ' version with a full canopy. Earlier version like the P-51- A had a sliding canopy like the P-40 used. I am guessing this kit dates back to 1960 at least....
