No you do not need it But you could use it. And it would give more rpms, 17x6 and 16x8 is just about the same load or am I missing something here. 16x6,17x5 or4w would load less. KELLDOG

Tell us what ya see after 3 gallons of loosinging up.Like all engines have to break in. Have the engine and as stated runs like a champ.Try a foremost check valve for the heck of it for tank...
