RE: Sepulveda Basin

Lost helicopter starter and glow plug battery

Was out at the field today to fly my heli and when I went home, I left behind my starter and glow stick. I returned an hour later when I realized...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Anybody know if the field is open today? Maybe one of the early morning crew?

Take care,
Dave

I have no idea who that was either. [X(] It did look like one of the very skilled early a..m. pilots though......

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

One is .40 size and one is .60 size.
Most guys race the .40 size with a YS110 because that is an ultra fast combination.
If your local club offers a .60 size class then the Petie would be...

Yes, but, the heli hasn't left the ground so he is technically, just running his engine, perhaps to check needle settings...

Yes, right where the wing touches the fuse, measure back from there. Great flying plane. You will love it.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 Mustang--Petie 2nd version

I have always been very happy with the Saito 1.20 in mine. Only problem with the 1.80 is that it requires even more fuel than the 1.20

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Well, not really.
Futaba radios have been out for some time now.....

Perhaps there is a compatibility problem with XPS and Futaba, but I sincerely doubt it is directly the fault of Futaba.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 Mustang--Petie 2nd version

Your findings would be correct. The 10" pitch would allow the engine to rev out farther and probably just a little leaner which is why the smoke trail was reduced. The 12" pitch would give more...

HS5645 servos and a 5 cell pack should be more than fine.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 Mustang--Petie 2nd version

I'm a big fan of Hitec digitals over any of the others. Compare costs on similar servos and I have found that Hitec is about half of what a comparable Futaba servo costs.....

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 Mustang--Petie 2nd version

What prop were you using? Rare Bear had a YS1.40 and his wasn't that fast. I believe the airframe becomes a major limiting factor to speed on this plane....especially in it's stock form.
Was the...

RE: Official Jammin X1CRT Thread

You can get some setup sheets and Pro setups from Jammins site. That should get you pointed in the right direction.

RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread

Have you removed the little carb restrictor orifice yet? It is a little plastic piece that is pressed into the throat of the carb. Remove the air filter then you will see what I am talking about. ...

RE: Nomadio React... go or no?

First off, I am on Nomadio's 007 Team. I want to get that out of the way for RCU policies. I've been racing 5th scale road cars for 3 years now and this is my first year as Expert/Pro.

Having...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 Mustang--Petie 2nd version

Same here. Stock mount, no rubber. I even had to cut a bunch away from the stock mount to get the engine where I wanted it.

I personally take offense on behalf of Rare Bear. Paul is one of the nicest, most personable flyers at the field. Flying a fast warbird in the morning does not a rude squadron member make...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 Mustang--Petie 2nd version

Yes, very nice. A lot of the local guys run a straight pipe about 4 inches long with no muffler. Doesn't sound any better than that....
