RE: FAA puts the kaibash on RC AP

I have no idea how long it will take, but I am fairly confident that the FAA will come up with something reasonable. In general, they're in the business of allowing people to fly, not finding ways...

RE: DF Frame Hits

I did the same thing back when I using foam blades, after my bad crash which was ultimately caused by frame strikes. It sure seemed to do the trick! Now that I'm using the new black blades, I...

I did it AGAIN! But this time...

I posted a while back ("Cautionary verse..." thread) about accidentally taking off without TI enabled...That time it resulted in a crash.

I'm still an outdoor-only, TI-only flyer (I just haven't...

RE: Draganflyer Navigation Lighting Systems

I've only posted the one video (my crash video)...First I used putfile.com, but it disappeared from there, so I uploaded it to YouTube. YouTube seems pretty easy to use...

Glad your flight was...

RE: The camera transmitter is causing interferences

800 mw (I assume you meant milliwatts) is a fair amount of power. Even though the frequency ranges are very different, or at least, should be, I can see a 800 mw transmitter causing problems,...

RE: DF V Ti HELP NEEDED

Yes, ElVela, at least for my DF V TI...When the battery starts getting too low on power, the max throttle allowed gets more and more limited, forcing a (hopefully gentle) landing...When in this mode,...

RE: DF V Ti HELP NEEDED

Flickering randomly, or blinking? If all three LEDs are blinking (but not flickering randomly), it sounds like a low battery indication...If the LEDs are just flickering randomly, then something's...

You got some pretty cool video there before the, er, encounter! Actually, that part was pretty cool, too! Great music choice... :D

Glad to hear there wasn't any real damage!

RE: plastic rotor screws?

Yep, been there, sheared that. :D But in my case, it was probably due to rotor frame strikes, so I guess that counts as hitting a solid object. But ever since then, I've been running brass screws....

RE: Is there a DF doctor in the house

I don't think you can rule out motors, especially given where they came from... :D I'd start by replacing those for sure. How does it do on a "goose test"?

RE: Custom Camera Mount

I can vouch for that...I've got a stock X-UFO with a replaced and presumably improved gyro. I still enjoy flying the beastie. Anyway, between me and my friends (I let them use the X-UFO so they...

When you said "goose poop," I couldn't help thinking, "I didn't mean that goose test!"

RE: Blown Fuse

If you blew a 15A fuse in flight, you might want to try the "goose test" (see this message) when you get the unit back together. A sticky motor/gear could let you fly, but draw way too much power...

RE: Blown Fuse

What size fuse are you using? I haven't blown one in flight yet, and that includes a few death drops with full-throttle recoveries.

In another thread, Adam from DFI said they've gone to 15A...
