Nothing. It just won't work.
I usually get my props from OSE, but they don't have a pair of the 'M' series props.
They do however, have both the X447 & the X447-R....
Those props are fine for 3s. I was just making sure you weren't running 4s as you didn' state the number of cells in your previous post. I feel the props would be too big for 4s on those...
I gather the batteries are 3s? Because I feel the 447 props will be too big for 120A ESC's with 2800kv motors on 4s.
Never had one myself, only the 60A, 120A & 180A.
But I would imagine that they are just as reliable as the others, if you don't exceed its parameters. And they can be programmed with the same...
Scroll down to the bottom of this page.
Plenty of other good reading about motors there too.
Or you could try one of these.
Super hobby Store is your best bet here in the land of Oz.
They sell all the NQD boats & there are a couple of pages of spare parts.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
I think you'll find that a 28mm motor won't be powerful enough for a 36" hull. You probably won't be able to spin a large enough prop to get that hull moving fast enough. A 4074 or 4082 size motor,...
Although I don't have the Shockwave, I have successfully raced a H & M no step 4 (36" hull) on both 4s & 6s.
Not knowing what your budget or experience is I'll just list what I ran in them & you...
It seems all the Genesis owners want to keep their secrets to themselves.:D
I don't own one but I have helped a guy set one up for racing.
With that motor & ESC we could successfully run an...
Definitely sounds like a RX issue to me. I would replace that first.
What sort of tape did you use. It shouldn't come off in a tumble. Renfrew shin guard tape is what most people use. It stays...
I Thought so.
I see the guys over on R/C groups are giving you some good advice. I didn't realise it was the larger impeller size.
I didn't see the 'Unit 5' reference in your first post. Stupid...
Hi Tom. And Merry Christmas.
Unfortunately a 1400kv motor on 4s might be a bit slow. that's about 21000 revs. Maybe 18000 under load.
For 4s, something around the 1800kv range would be better....
If it were mine I'd be using something like this on 6s. Just need a water cooled motor mount....
What voltage do you intend to run. This will affect the Kv of the motor you need.
Most impellers start to cavitate at around 25- 28 thousand revs. So over revving them just wastes power for no speed...
First of all Mike, Welcome to the forum.
Secondly. What is the length of the hull? Does the '80' stand for 800mm?. Some pictures would be a help too.
Also, what voltage do you intend on running?...
They look good Vinet.
Some useful sizes in there too
Always good to see another option. I wonder what the postage would be all the way down here to the Colonies in Australia.
I finally finished a conversion that I started & then shelved many months ago.
It was one of those static display models that I added motor & hardware to.
The hull is 36" & now has a Turnigy 4082...
Glad you are having fun with it Mark.
You were driving it well with the other guys on Saturday. She was holding her own against them.
The 4082 1600kv motor is a 'Y' wind motor so about 11.25 - 15.00 degrees is good for either 4s or 6s. That's where I run mine.
If you run a 'D' wind motor on those ESC's, then the 3.75 degree...
When a 'Max amp' rating is given, it usually means the maximum "efficient" amp rating. Loading it up with bigger props will decrease the revs while increasing the amp draw, & therefore the heat,...
With the 180A ESC I would try the M642 (42/1.6)to start & M545 (45/1.5) if the heat is ok on the first one. Both on 4s. They might be too much for the 120A ESC.
A 48mm prop is going to really load...
I've had the Popeye for a few weeks now but haven't been able to upload any pics or videos because of a computer problem, but that's fixed now. so here's a few pics & a video.
The boat can be bought...
