Difficulty with a Magnum XLS 46

Now I know many beginners like me usually have trouble getting their motors to run properly, but this is a little bit different for me.

I recently got my first trainer plane and a .46 XLS for...

RE: Electric or Nitro?

While both have it's advantage, for the cost-efficient "RCer" (aka cheap/poor) electric is much more popular. A decent RTR will cost you ~170-200 (Evader, Sprint), and the speed will keep you happy....

RE: Something different...

I guess that the inspection team found out they were maintaining their motors. I dunno how they did it, but the drivers didn't deny the accusations.

I talked to the manufacturers (the LHS and...

RE: just recently bought some 3300 have question

GP 3300's are NiMH, which means that you won't get the memory that you'll get with NiCds. Don't worry about them, you won't notive a serious power drop. If you want the last .01 MPH out of your RC...

RE: Something different...

Well, I didn't participate today, but it was the first race ever today. As I watched some of the racers, 3 of the 18 people on the races got DQ'ed for cutting comm (1 guy), using different brushes...

Something different...

As some of you know, I have an Evader BX Pro that's been modified till it can't be modified any more. It's a good vehicle, but now I've set that aside and I bought another BX Pro, prebuilt, added in...

And don't forget, you can always flip a servo reversal switch on your Tx :D

RE: T4 / B4 Carbon Chassis

I don't think conductivity would be a concern, but if you are nervous grab some shrinkwrap (like mentioned above), or some low-temp covering (TowerKote, EconoKote, etc.). Or if you wanna go cheap...

Switching out Rx

I just received my first plane, and, just for my information when the time comes for me to get a second plane, would it be alright to swap the receiver from the trainer into my next plane? I have a...

RE: Evader ST --OR-- Evader BX

I disagree with that strongly. I'm not trying to diss you, but the BX will go faster slightly than the ST, now the other way around, because of the lower suspension and the rear spoiler. The smaller...

RE: would this effect my ESC

Well, I gotta say, using real-life testing, I have a 14 turn quad motor in my boat right now, and I'm running it on 10 cells, and it doesn't seem to be frying my ESC from what I can see. I'm using 10...

Reciever compatibility

I have a Futaba 6EXA system, and just so I have the info for my next plane, is it possible to get a receiver from another manufacturer (namely Hitec), and use it with the Futaba transmitter? I looked...

RE: would this effect my ESC

I find your specs on your ESC as kind of weird. My ESC that I'm using right now (Duratrax Streak), can handle a motor down to 12 turns, and have 4-10 cells. Therefore, I can run a 12 turn motor on 10...

RE: Opinions wanted

Even though it's not RTF, the Hobbico Aero Cruiser ARF is a great electric cub, much better than the one you linked, It's $110 if you buy from Tower with the reccomended radio, and requires very...

RE: How to make a rustler quiet?????

I second that, make sure everything is lubricated and running smoothly. I suggest getting some better gears, I think Tower sells some that were made especially to reduce the noise...

You're...

RE: Best Electric ST

I think that Brianfast just started this thread looking to spark a few flames, and by the looks of it he's done a good job of it...

RE: One of the most craziest ideas I've ever thought of...

OK, I made my version 2:

I made the chassis lighter by taking out the bulky ESC and motor and put in a 180-size motor for the wheels, and I put in a micro ESC. I switched my hi torque steering...

RE: How fast can they go??

Easy: more cells. I dunno about people on the forums, but the people at my track always wonder why I can beat their top-of-the-line racing machines with 10 turn flatliner motors. I beat them not only...

RE: 19 Turn Motor

Another vote for the Reedy 19t Quad. It's not only got alot of torque/RPM, but it's a unique motor in itself. ball bearings+quad magnets+Pro comm and brushes=the smoothest motor I ever used. I paired...

RE: Vote for your favorite trainer and why?

After reading all the posts in various threads about virtually all trainers flying equally well, I bought the Tower Hobbies MKII trainer. 62" may be a bit large for most people, but it fits right in...

RE: evader st pro

OK, I have an Evader BX Pro, and out of the box, it most definitely will NOT go 40 MPH... I wish. The motor supplied isn't that great, but it is ball bearings, which means it'll last you a bit...

RE: One of the most craziest ideas I've ever thought of...

OK, very quick update:

I just went downstais to my basement, got my hobby knife, and grabbed some balsa wood/ply wood. I just constructed a 1/14 (I'm guessing, it's probably not even scale)...

One of the most craziest ideas I've ever thought of...

I have an Evader BX Pro, and I'm thinking of doing one of the most insane upgrades I can think of- I'm going to try to make it fly... literally.

This is my plan: get a brushless motor, and a...
