Does the O.D of the header really matter at all? I would think not?

Yeah, I have a lot of reading to do. My wife has wanted me to take up reading for quite some time now... Probably a good time to spend reading this stuff and fill in some of the blanks.

That's pretty good. APC probably turns a little slower - that's what I use. It should come up with more runtime. Mine did about 700rpm better on 5% nitro 22% castor.

I figured it had something to do with the gas expansion. I assume it adds a little extra "oomph" to the reverting pressure wave too by compressing the charge slightly going back into the exhaust...

I'm just curious - what advantage do the conical headers have over the cylindrical headers?

It's even a long stroke engine. That thing sure can rev, but it would need a small toothpick prop to get to the rpm they claim..

It looks like it must be 18mm diameter on one end and 15mm on the other. I wish they did state the length of their headers. It would help determining fitment.

Okay. I'll look at the 41016 then. That's the medium on-road one.

18mm long? That's damn short. 1/5th the length of my stock header; granted its a buggy header, but still. That's short.

Like I said. Let's see some scientific data proving the theory. I have scoured the Internet and even the library to find anything proving this theory one way or another with no dice. I don't...

I'll try a short conical header from Nova to start with. Worst case scenario I need to get a medium length header if the shorty doesn't fit.

    LoL. :)

Glow plug engines are glow plug engines. They all operate the same way (burn fuel and produce power (work). It makes sense to me (I must be dumb) that an engine burning no nitro will...

This issue is still a problem, and probably worse than it's ever been. Every day I get pummeled with redirects off RCU to various sweepstakes sites and ads. It happens on 2 different mobile...

Nice little project. I've heard the newer Traxxas 2.5 engines make good aircraft engines from another fellow on here, though I'm not sure how the short crankshaft works with an air screw. I've...

I'm in the same boat. I have an electric Ultra Micro T-28 Trojan that I'm using as a trainer of sorts. The rest of my planes are glow powered including a small 1/2a Norvel trainer, but I'd rather...

Any of the engines I've run in these trucks, there's never been a shortness of low-end power. Even the lowly Mach 427 will wheelie sometimes. The SH .28 will wheelie effortlessly. I have the...

Good stuff fellas. I'll keep it all in mind. If (a big if right now) I chose to have this Picco modified, is it absolutely necessary to run it in the process or can the proper mods be done and...

I remeasured. Wire is yellow in the pic. 100mm. Best I can get.

I found a new Dynamite hard anodized 086 on eBay for $37. That will be my first test pipe. The other pipe I'll obtain later will be a 9886SS. Neal says the 9886 is the bees knees, and I believe...

Nobody seems to know how long those conical manifolds are. Generally, the higher the powerband desired, the shorter the pipe. This is how full wave tuned pipes work. Lower load/faster rpm =...

From what I've read, another modder said the Piccos have 20-25 degrees of blowdown, but do better with 30-35 degrees. He went on to say moving the blowdown up that high requires modifications to the...

Might be a good idea to pull the transmission and diffs apart, replace worn bearings, and shim everything properly to ensure the "fun factor" doesn't turn into "oh crap!"
