RE: Making your Own Linkages

I should have been more clear. It is flying and I'm having a ball. Seems odd that they'd increase the length of the main shaft by 10mm, but not increase the length of any of the linkages. That's...

RE: Making your Own Linkages

You're probably right, but I am having a ball flying this one, and I'm just not able to spend $400.00 - $600.00 on a new heli. Though that day is coming, and in a .90 size! Anyway, I started out...

Making your Own Linkages

I'm a relative newbie to helicopters. I have an older model 1000, 1001 X-Cell from Miniature Aircraft. I've picked up the newest version of the main rotor shaft that is 10mm longer than the old...

RE: No dual elevators for 7c???

I had the same problem. I was able to over come the lack of funtionality in the 7CAP by adding the MSA-10 servo sychronizer. The only issue I had after that was servos with different speeds and...

RE: Running a heli engine in on a bench

I'd say you could... I probably put an 11X7 prop on it and let it run.

RE: GY401 Gyro - drifting and wagging

thanks! Yes, that is the Futaba foam I used. I will get some slack in the wires and see about slop in the linkage. I'm also considering upgrading to the plastic servo tray. That may help some...

GY401 Gyro - drifting and wagging

Hello everyone... I have a small problem... I think...

I've noticed that at times while flying the tail will drift right (the tail is towards me). A simple bump of the tail rotor stick and...

RE: Phoenix Extra 330S 60-90 Size

If you start early Saturday morning, you should be able to maiden by early afternoon. My longest part was waiting on the glue to setup on the tail section. All control surfaces are already...

Hey Dave! Fancy seeing you here. That's the one! Found the website, and can now answer your question.

Anyone remember the Glider Vendor from Joe Nall 2007?

Hindsight is sooooo much better. I could have taken a picture, I could have spoken to the sales guy in the tent, I could have written down the information. But in my blissful wanderings, I did none...

RE: Best all around servo for a heli?

I agree with the main gear! I've replaced it three or four times. But I manufactured a "tail bump" guard that now keeps the tail off the ground even in the really ugly landings so I haven't...

Best all around servo for a heli?

I've been slowly upgrading my helicopter. It's an older (early to mid 80's) X-Cell 1001. I'm currently running Futaba S3004 on Throttle, elevator and aileron (assuming those are the right terms,...

RE: Help me find a Charger

I got my charger! I really like it. I do have some questions though.

1. Will it tell me the health of a battery?, or at least provide information to let me figure it out?

2. When I setup...

Discharging 7CAP battery

Maybe it's needs it, maybe not. I have a Futabe 7CAP radio, it's about 4 years old. I just purchased a Bantam BC6 charger. I'd like to cycle the battery in my transmitter. But I understand there...

RE: Installing the Futaba GY401 Gyro

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. However, I failed to be more specific. This is a glow heli with an OS Max .50 FSR. I use 550mm main rotor blades, and it weighs in at about 8 1/2 pounds.

Installing the Futaba GY401 Gyro

Finally! I'm replacing my old Gyro with a new Futaba GY401 gyro and S9254 Digital Servo. Since the currently installed Gyro was already in it when I got it, I've never done this before. That being...

RE: Help me find a Charger

I have a question!.. Do you need to buy any additional leads to plug a standard Futaba battery pack in? Or for that matter, any brand battery? If so, and I suspect you do, where do we get them?
