    RE: Rise of Flight?

I love the game. It can be expensive, but you really don't need to purchase very many planes. Also, it's smart to catch them when they're doing big sales. Right now everything is 50% off in their...

RE: Old Rhienbeck Aerodrome on the 8th

In the past I've come up for just Saturday, but this year I'll be coming up for the whole weekend. Is there a place to store planes on site without having to disassemble them?

Very cool. Thanks for the info. It appears to fly wonderfully, and I look forward to seeing it all painted up.

    RE: OHIO DAWN PATROL 2012

What's the story with the Camel? Was it from a kit, from plans, or entirely scratch built? I would like to build a 1/3d scale aeroplane, but having already built a 1/4th scale Pup, I'd like to build...

Good to hear you'll be at least putting it back together again. I look forward to seeing it in the museum. :-)

Apparently this year was a bad year for Moranes. Is it totally irreparable?

    Rhinebeck Jamboree 2011

Any other RCU members attend the Jamboree this past weekend? I was only able to come for Sunday, and it seemed much smaller than in previous years, but it was still a blast as always. Any other...

He means to say that this isn't a thread to show off your scale model. While it is nice, this thread is for images of planes that look like they could be real, if not entirely indistinguishable from...

Well, I'd definitely be lying if I said that weathering wasn't my favorite part of the finishing. :D

RE: CD ScaleDesigns Albatros CI build

I was always fond of using powdered pigment mixed with highly thinned oil paints.

    Looks like this:

RE: 1910 Hudson Flier Build Thread

I do hope you plan to try flying it again. That model is far too awesome to have it simply sit around without once having a good flight on it.

    RE: 2010 Rhinebeck Jamboree

Sorry for the great big wall of pictures, I have a lot of them. These are only a sampling, really.

    RE: 22x10 (or thereabouts) props?

I love my Xoar WWI prop. It pulls my plane around really well, and has survived 2 nose overs without so much as a scratch.

I don't think you can go too far wrong with one of them.

    RE: Best scale photo!

That's more post-shading than pre-shading, but I agree. Many plastic modeling techniques simply do not translate well to a larger scale. While it's interesting to look at, it's not very scale in...

    RE: Comparative engine sounds

I've got a Stihl 4 stroke that my father and I are working on putting into my Pup. We just need to make a carburetor fixture to bring it away from the cowl. When it runs the sound is pretty amazing.

    RE: Comparative engine sounds

When it comes to engine noises, Le Rhones can't be beat.

But in models, the best engine sound is definitely Moki radials.

    RE: !/4 scale WWI kits?

I hear that. I, for one, get kind of sick of exposed metal cowlings, and the usual "Naval 3's" A flight Pups. So I went way out in to the obscure and did "Naval 3's" C Flight.

    It's different!...
