RE: crop duster r/c

Here's a pic of a REALLY nice Cat that's working down in Texas. It belongs to a friend of mine who owns Gerik Ag Service based out of Aquilla, TX. One of the most unique and recognizable paint...

RE: Great Planes Extra 27% 330s

The OS 1.60 is a WONDERFUL engine... I've had two of them; one on a Goldberg Pitts 12 Monster, and most recently on the GP Gene Soucy Extra 300S. But, I've got a DA-50 sitting on the shelf, and also...

RE: Great Planes Extra 27% 330s

For you guys that are running 40cc or larger gassers on this airframe, what if any beefing up of the firewall and other areas are you doing? Is it fine "as is" or do some mods need to be made?

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Yup, it's been discontinued for several months now, unfortunately. Great Planes bought out Goldberg, and it seems that most of the nice Goldberg ARF's have since been discontinued.

RE: Gruman Ag-Cat

Well, I know this guy's post is a bit old, but in the event that anyone's interested, I thought I'd clear up a few misconceptions about what he said.

Ag aircraft hoppers have what's called a...

RE: Gruman Ag-Cat

Glad I happened to run across this thread. I've wanted an Ag Cat for a LOOOONG time now! Of the 6,000 hrs of flight time I have, a little over a thousand of it is flying B model 1340 powered Cats...

RE: Hangar 9 extra 260 27% what engine

Well, you obviously havent seen many guys fly IMAC sequences with a DA 50 powered 260 then, because there are, and have been PLENTY of them used in IMAC ever since the plane came out. I fly...

RE: Hangar 9 extra 260 27% what engine

I have the 27% Extra 260 with a DA 50 on the nose, and it does NOT suffer from high wing loading. It actually has very docile low speed handling, and lands very nice. Most of these "rumors" of poor...

RE: The ALL NEW Dietrich 75cc Extra 260

Well, I called and canceled my pre-order this afternoon. I had intended (based on the Feb. delivery date provided by Deitrich) on this being ready for at least PART of the IMAC season this year. ...

RE: Spinner Question About Great Planes 1/4 Extra 300S

The GP aluminum spinners are not known for their quality at all. I'd suggest spending a bit of cash and getting a good Tru Turn or Dave Brown Vortex. Both are top quality, and both have a wide...

RE: Anyone building a H9 Sukhoi yet???

Hmm, that's funny... my LHS is telling me that Horizon is telling him they are. Oh well, I can wait a bit I guess.;)

Anyone building a H9 Sukhoi yet???

I'm looking for some first hand information on the new Hangar 9 Sukhoi, and was hoping someone would start up a build thread, but so far I havent found one. Anyone got one of these yet, and if so,...

RE: Carl Goldbert Pitts Monster 1.20 ARF

I had the Goldberg Pitts for a while, with an OS 1.60 for power. It was WAY overpowered with that engine, so I put an OS 1.20 on it, and it was perfect. The plane flies decent as long as you use...

RE: Dietrich 85cc Extra...When?

Looks like the end of next month, or maybe even in March before they're ready. I've got my pre-order in and am REALLY getting anxious!

Okay, Greg, I flew this past weekend, and here's some numbers for you on my engine. Our field is actually 815' above sea level. I'm running Wildcat 15% nitro fuel and an OS #5 plug. On a Xoar 18x8...

RE: Pitts 1/3 hard to turn right

If you're running the OS 1.60, I'd go with an 18x6 prop. I've got two of these engines and that's one of my main props, and pretty much the prop of choice for most owners of the 1.60. But, as was...

RE: Great Planes 1/4 scale Gene Soucy Extra 300S Review Now posted

I'd agree that the FS 200, or even the Saito 1.80 would be a better choice in this bird for a hardcore 3D flyer, just because of the quicker throttle response and higher torque. For IMAC type...

RE: Great Planes 1/4 scale Gene Soucy Extra 300S Review Now posted

RE: Great Planes 1/4 scale Gene Soucy Extra 300S Review Now posted

There's nothing wrong with the Bisson Pitts muffler for the OS 1.60. I've got two 1.60's that I've run HARD for two years now, one of them being in THIS plane. They both have Bisson mufflers, and...

RE: can someone recognize this aircraft

It's a Vari EZ or a Long EZ, cant tell for certain which one. Also, with the three blade prop, it COULD be a Berkut, which is basically just a modified, higher performance version of the Long EZ. I...

RE: Just a quick gripe...

I've got your "whining" right here, ace. I just came back to JR after using Futaba, and the programming is a bit different, so YEAH, I need one, or at least parts of one, just to get started.

RE: Just a quick gripe...

No, matter of fact, it's not a big deal moneywise. I make enough flying full scale airplanes for a living that I dont have ANY problem affording $700 for a radio. And, now that I've played with it...

I dont get it. I just payed right at 700 of my hard earned dollars for a new X9303 radio system. I call you guys up at product support to inquire about getting a bound manual for it, and I get...
